The Snyder County Conservation District (SCCD) has the following test kits available for the general public:

1. Soil Test Kits for $10.00 each for crop fields, pastures, orchards, gardens and lawns.
2. Drinking Water Test Kits (Penn State)
3. Pond & Lake Test Kits (Penn State)
4. Manure Nutrient Test Kits

Soil test kits are payable to the SCCD when picked up at the office. This does not include postage to Penn State's testing laboratory.  Sampling, form completion and mailing directions are included with each kit.

Payment for the other three types of kits are made directly to the testing laboratory and not to the SCCD. Please follow the enclosed directions for accurate results.

The Snyder County Conservation District is selling Snyder County T-shirts for $10.00 each. Sizes range from Child Small to Adult XXL. Shirts come in various colors. Each shirt has a trout printed on the front that is between the words "Snyder County" and "Pennsylvania."

• Snyder County Topographic Maps: ($8.00 each)
• 7.5 Minute "Quad" Topographic Maps: (Prices vary from $8.00 to $13.50) The Conservation District has all the individual maps that make up Snyder County, as well as some others outside the County. (Scale: 1:24,000 or 1 in. = 2000 ft.) Contact Renee Swineford, Administrative Assistant, at 570-837-3000, x110 to find out if specific maps are available.
