 Streambank Permit Info

The Snyder County Conservation District currently does not have Chapter 105 delegation agreement with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) regarding construction and/or excavation along streams and waters of the Commonwealth.

This specific delegation agreement for certain functions under the Dam Safety and Encroachments Act delegated responsibilities to a conservation district to receive and acknowledge receipt of notifications to use general permits. Other responsibilities included providing information and written materials to the public, conduct training and information sessions with interested parties and performing on-site investigations of complaints regarding illegal water obstructions and encroachments.

Therefore, all persons interested in applying for general permits in Snyder County must apply through the DEP's Northcentral Regional Office.  All permits and other information should be sent to:

USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), with cooperation from the Snyder County Conservation District (SCCD), Snyder County Commissioners, Snyder County Emergency Management Coordinator and PA Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) helped repair three damaged streambank locations. This was through the Emergency Watershed Protection (EWP) Program through NRCS.
