Overview

Emergency Management is the organization and management of the resources and responsibilities for dealing with all humanitarian aspects of emergencies (preparedness, response, mitigation, and recovery).  The aim is to reduce the harmful effects of all hazards, including natural and man made disasters.
 
The Snyder County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) oversees all emergency planning and response for the county. The department is also in charge of all first responder training. The county’s EMA office is a member of the South Central Mountains Regional Task Force, which is comprised of eight counties.
