Overview

The Snyder County Sheriff’s Office is responsible to processing (fingerprinting and photographing) all defendants in criminal cases and juveniles in delinquency proceedings. If you have been ordered to report to the Sheriff’s Office for processing, you must contact the Office to make an appointment on the date that is listed on your Fingerprint Order issued to you by the Magisterial District Judge or Court of Common Pleas Judge. However, if you wish to report earlier than the date you were given or if you missed the date on your Order, you may call to make an appointment anytime between the hours of 9 am and 3 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays (excluding holidays).

Criminal justice agencies are agencies are any agency that has access to criminal history information (sheriff’s offices, police departments, probation departments, etc). If you require a background check because of your employment with a criminal justice agency, please contact the Sheriff’s Office to make arrangements for fingerprinting. You will be required to present a valid photo identification along with a Fingerprint Authorization Letter. The Letter must be completed by your agency and submitted to the Sheriff’s Office at the time of fingerprinting.

Overview

The Sheriff’s Office offers fingerprinting services for employees of vendors who are contracted to work in an area where criminal justice data is stored. If you are an employee of a vendor who is contracted to conduct work for a criminal justice agency (sheriff’s office, police department, probation department, etc.), you may be required to have a fingerprint-based background check conducted. If so, please contact the Sheriff’s Office to make arrangements for fingerprinting. You will be required to present a valid photo identification along with a Fingerprint Authorization Letter for Vendor Employee. The Letter must be completed by a representative of the criminal justice agency requiring the background check and submitted to the Sheriff’s Office at the time of fingerprinting.
