The 17th Judicial District is a two county, two judge Judicial District and one senior judge
- The Honorable Harold F. Woelfel, Jr., President Judge has his chambers in the Union County Courthouse.
- The Honorable Michael H. Sholley, has his chambers in the Snyder County Courthouse.
- The Honorable Louise O. Knight, Senior Judge has her chambers in the Union County Courthouse in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
The Court of Common Pleas is a trial court of general jurisdiction handling all civil and criminal matter. A civil trial term is conducted during each calendar quarter. In addition, it handles child and spousal support matters, child custody matter, juvenile delinquency, juvenile dependency, and Orphan's Court matters.
