December 28th was the kick off for the remodeling project of the former M&T bank building. This much needed addition to the Courthouse will be overseen by general contractor T Ross Brothers. The drastic increase in workload with this past year’s election proved that the expansion project of the “Courthouse Annex” will not be finished too soon. Expected completion of the Annex is late August and the rest of the project should be complete by the end of 2021. With the final payment of the county’s prior debt taking place in December, the commissioners decided to borrow the needed money to pay for this renovation project with a 10 year loan. The competitive bid process produced a great interest rate of rate of 1.49% from Mifflinburg Bank and Trust Company.
